losing my emails between bt yahoo and outlook express

I have had a problem for some weeks now with not receiving my emails.
I did change my password as it was suggested that my account may have been hijacked. That unfortunately has made the problem worse.
Now the only mail I can receive is that which goes into my bulk/junk bt yahoo account. The good mail seems to be going into my yahoo account ok and if I am online when the mail comes in i can catch it and it goes to outlook express. But all other mail is being lost between yahoo and outlook express.
This is dozens of emails daily. Most importantly I do not receive my weekly update from Martin.
I have emailed bt yahoo help desk many times, if they are replying it is by email and I as i am not receiving the emails I am still stuck.

I have tried to log into the europe.yahoo.com that came up when I went into the yahoo help page, unfortunately I cannot log onto it. Dont know why.
I think you are correct about mail going to wrong account but not sure I know how to correct it.
I did more harm than good when I changed the password on bt yahoo. I got locked out for hours, system would not accept old or new password. since I changed password the only mail I can receive is the junk which goes straight into the bulk box and any mail I happen to catch on yaho if I am online.
This is the response I get when I sign into outlook express:
The host 'mailbt@openworld.com could not be found. Please verify you have entered the server name correctly. Account @mailbtopenworld.com server mailbt....
protocol POP3, Port 110, Secure (SSL) No. Socket Error 11004, Error No. OX8OOCCCOD.
When we were on dial up with bt we were btopenworld.com, since we went over to broadband about a year ago our address became btinternet.com - but we have always been able to receive emails sent to either btopenworld or btinternet. When I noted down the above info I noticed it says btopenworld not bt internet. I have just sent 2 test emails from my hotmail account. The bt openworld one came through straight away, the bt internet address one has not been received.
Does this information describe the problem ok. Thank you for any advise you can provide for a totally untechie person. I am worried about changing anything and making it worse.

Seem that your settings are up the creek, I would phone BT mail twits and ask for.
Your Password
Your Log in
SMTP setting (may not be pop)
POp Setting (may not be smtp)
And once you have that I would delete any old accounts in OE, Tools, Accounts,
Mail Tab, click once on the account then remove.
Then Add Mail, and start a fresh with the seetings they have given you
and also just check to make sure you are entering the correct details
on the webmail site.

took 2 phone calls to bt yahoo but we got there in the end.
unfortunately they tell me there is no way of reclaiming the emails that 'got lost between yahoo and outlook express'.0
