Aphids?

My alpine strawberry plant seems to have attracted small white flying insects which I presume are aphids.
I'm not sure how they got in; the strawberries are in a pot on the windowsill and we've not had any windows open.
But can I get some advice as to how to get rid of them?
Thanks

Yes, they sound like white fly. Just this morning I sprayed some young fuschia plants with an insecticide but with strawberries you will have to use something else. Some people use washing up liquid watered down But even that will mean you will need to wash the strawberries before eating. If there is no fruit showing I suppose you could use the washing up liquid on the foliage.
They will have come in with the soil. I grow strawberries too but they stay outside all year and aphids don't seem to be much of a problem.0 -

I'm getting these white flies on my grown-from-seed herbs! Washing up liquid might leave a lingering taste... any other ideas anyone?
Thanks!0 -
I had this problem on my basil which confused me coz people plant basil to keep aphids away! I didn't want to use washing up liquid cos of the taste, but I read that aphids really hate windy weather - any kind of breeze and they don't like it. So I stuck my basil outside when it was windy and it really did help.0

Will do that right away! Fingers crossed!0

Hope it works! Aphids are a complete nightmare on herbs!0

Make sure the washing up liquid solution isn't too strong though...
As when it dries it leaves a film, which is what kills the bugs I think by suffocating them, but it will also 'suffocate' the plant's leaves.Wins: Fillipo Berio Spray Oil0
