Bush LCD Television EPG Fault

Hi everyone!

At the end of December 2007 I purchased a Bush 26in LCD HD Ready Digital TV, model number Bush IDLCD26TV07HD.

Recently a fault has developed whereby when I try to load the full EPG nothing happens, then after about 20 seconds or so the picture freezes and the sound cuts out, then the unit restarts itself. This only happens when I try to load the full EPG, I can load the small information bar at the bottom of the screen with the now/next, channel number etc.

I have tried retuning the television, unplugging and replugging it (though not both at the same time) and the problem is still not resolved. I telephoned the Bush customer service line who in deep technical detail told me to "unplug, retune, if it don't work get it repaired".

Originally I approached the retailer who have informed me that I need to get an independant engineer's report to confirm that it is a manufacturing defect, but I was wondering if there was anything else I could try before getting into all that mess?

I personally believe this is a manufacturing fault (how else would a fault like this occur?) but the retailer wants a report.
Does anyone agree/disagree? Or could anyone provide any possible solutions?

Many thanks in advance

(P.S. Forgot to mention our aerial and signal strength is fine, the aerial was installed roughly 5 years ago and we live practically next to the Winter Hill transmitter in Bolton!)

Could be a software problem, have you tried updating, the menu will be hidden away somewhere in the setup.

Looks like its Humax this week.

Hi - thanks for the reply

At the system menu for the television all you can do is view the current software version, no download/update options that I can see?
Any other suggestions? Or should I just bite the bullet and just proceed with the engineer's report?

    Thanks
