Root on my Philips Dvd Player??

For some reason in the last few days my Dvd wont play any Dvd,s and keeps coming up with the message ROOT on the little screen.

Does anyone know what the problem is and why its just started doing it after about 6 months of useing it.

I am not useing any copy dvd,s and i only use ones from lovefilm and bought dvd,s

Fortunately I've never seen this on mine, but there's some evidence out in Google land that the player has (for unknown reasons) lost it's configuration data and is displaying the fact that it's at the "root" of the configuration menu.

If you press the setup button on the remote (called System Menu on mine), can you enter the configuration menu?
