More Credit File Worries

Hey Guys,
Over the last few months it seems i've had nothing but problems trying to sort out my credit file. I moved home back in october of last year, and have updated my bank details etc and the credit files shows these details are correct.

But i checked this morning (CreditExpert) and the credit file is now showing my bank account twice at my new address and hence saying that im using double my overdraft value as the account is listed twice. I have tried ringing Credit Expert but can't get through and have emailed them.

Is this just a glitch on their system maybe they are updating something? but I tried signing up to the LoveFilm.com trial this morning and they said they could not verify my card details either, so im relaly beginning to panic now!

Any ideas guys?

Check your addresses - have you got your current/old address twice? This happened to me and it was because everything was registered twice.

Contact them and ask for it to be removed. The fact that it's registered twice with them won't affect what lenders see (or at least they told me it wouldn't).

Which number did you call? I think I spoke to them on 0800 656 9000.

yh thats the number i got. but everytime i try i get the "all our operaters are busy. please try again later" i'll have to check again now when i finish work. How long will it take them to remove the duplicate item? Would that effect why my details cant be verified at lovefilm?

No it won't be anything to do with what's happening at LoveFilm - it shouldn't affect anything else. Can't explain the Lovefilm issue, check your card details again and then speak to your bank x

The stupid thing is i've checked the card details (infact tried using a different card too) and neither of them will go through. Yet i've used both of them on play.com and amazon.co.uk in the last few weeks. Its really annoying!

The other thing is at the min my credit rating is 424, with my bank account now at my new address and showing that for hte past 27months everything has been fine no missed payments etc, im right in thinking this will help my credit rating yes?

It should. Make sure you're on the electoral roll at your new address.

yh im on the electoral register there too
I've just tried registering for Equifax using my card and its not accepted there either! im gonna have to ring hte bank this evening i think!

I would do it sooner rather than later in case there's something wrong.
