Just thinking ahead- can I take a supply of extra batteries for walkman/gameboy etc on board a flight?
It`s 24 hours to NZ so, will need to keep the children busy!
Rember a time during first Iraq war I think, that we were asked to remove our watches, and got them back at the end of the flight!

We always carry spare batteries in our hand luggage and never once had a problem with it.
What items are prohibited in my hand luggage?
The following items are prohibited from being taken into the cabin as hand luggage:
Toys/replica guns
Plastic Catapults
Knives (regardless of length of blade)
Razor blades
Scissors
Trade tools
Darts
Metal Cutlery
Hypodermic syringes
Knitting needles
Snooker/Pool cues
Sports bats
Self heating drinks/food
Cigarette lighters?????? We always have one in our hand luggage
Any other item that in our opinion could be used to endanger the aircraft or any of its passengers."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
batteries for walkmans etc not a problem. the only problem we have is with the battery that goes on our portable dvd player due to it's size ...the scanning machinery doesn't like it one bit so much so that we put it in the same receptacle as your change and mobile to save digging it out of our bag0

its all a bit of a farce this security check lark, the amount of nasties you can buy after securtiy in the shops is frightening
glass bottles for weapons
knives from cafes
as much electrical goods as you want to make a bomb
razors in boots
infact you could arm a small army with weapons if you wanted to
let nothing get in the way of profit0
