Flights to tirina in albania

Hi...want to visit a friend in tirina in albania but there seems to be only two carriers from the UK and the cost is about 200 pounds. Does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives?
Thanks
Mallard

Fly to Corfu, Bari or Brindisi and catch a ferry?
  • That's a good idea. It might even be worthwhile looking at package holiday deals to Corfu, and then not using the accommodation.

Perhaps a cheaper flight to Dubrovnik and a train to Albania.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Or a flight/package tour to northern Greece. Plenty of Albanian immigrants there - the bus and railway companies put on buses to Albania.

Thanks everyone...some great ideas so will follow up.
  • I recently met someone working in Albania and asked her the same question how she gets there. She said good routes are available via Ljubljana in Slovenja or Rome in Italy - of course, Italy is full of even more immigrants from Albania.
  • There are no train services from Dubrovnik to Tirana (or anywhere else for that matter), but you could go by coach (changing in Montenegro). You could maybe looking into getting the coach to Podgorica from Dubrovnik, and from there getting a coach or train to Tirana.
