Parcelforce HELP! Stupid delivery men!

I bought a digital camera from amazon.co.uk and was dispatched via parcelforce. I checked the tracking online and it says:

Feb 11, 2006 09:38:00 AM **** Central Depot GB Delivery attempted - recipient not home

Feb 11, 200604:25:17 AM **** Central Depot GB Arrival Scan

Feb 10, 2006 11:01:00 PM National Hub GB Departure Scan



What on earth? I have waited at home since 6am, haven't left the house at all and I heard no doorbells, nothing! Not even a "card" saying missed delivery... Are these delivery men lazy or what?

However, I received some mail via royal mail from amazon. Could it be the same person who delivered my mail?

What do I do now about my package? I'm really gutted, it's an expensive item that is being delivered, I just hope it doesn't get lost!

It may well be that they tried to deliver to the wrong address. Or possibly that the driver couldn't find your address and has simply reported you're not home.
The package will go back to the hub and with a not home status, they will try to deliver again on Monday I would think.

If you know your local hub you could give them a call? If the driver is still in your area they may be able to contact him.

Thanks, their phone line is only open Mon-Fri, so I'll wait till Monday if it gets re-delivered.

No, I'm afraid not. I had a similar experience with Parcel Force and Amazon.

It turned into a bit of a horror story in the end, with trying to deliver to local Post Offices in my area. (Sorry to scare you - I'm sure yours will be fine)

They will as previously stated try to deliver again on Monday, but as a precaution I would call as early on Monday as they open to check they have the correct address on your account on Amazon.

Will you be in on Monday? The reason I ask is I don't advise you to take the deliver to Local Post Office option as this never seems to work (they get all confused, bless 'em)

Yup, I'm in on Monday, and I'm 100% positive that the address is correct. I checked the delivery address on the Amazon website. Could it be that it's Saturday and the delivery men are lazy?

Is it standard practice for parcelforce to automatically re-deliver on Monday?

Dont worry about it , im sure the package will turn up..i had this with a Boots package last week , i searched on line and tracked the package and it had 2 failed deliveries..i know that this was wrong as i hadnt left the house contacted Boots to say i was concerned that it was now past there quoted delivery date and that the company had shown two failed atempted deliveries . It arrived the next day and Boots refunded the delivery costs as a act of courtsey.

If you do pop out tomorrow pop a discreet note on ure door and ask then to leave with a neighbour

Thanks for the reassurance. It's just a !!!!!! take that they state "attempted delivery" when I was at home waiting for it.

I would ring parcelforce tomorrow and find out what has happened. They may be able to tell you something more. It maybe that the driver was being lazy and couldnt be bothered and wanted to finish early on the Saturday. Come Monday and they probably will deliver

Parcelforce in my area is good (touch wood!) and delivers quickly and the drivers are friendly - gives the dogs a biscuit each time he delivers here - well the dog cant tell he isnt the postman - he does have a red van!
