thanks hethmar
I had no intention of messing them around, I made an offer and i intend to stick to it, solicitor is confident it can all be done in 4-6 weeks so hopefully that is a good sign.
Do you think its worth asking estate agents if any1 has enquired about it - are they allowed to tell me if someone has booked a viewing etc??0 -
Not worth asking as you can't do anything about it. Unless you are going to spy on the house and warn them off with your baseball bat or somthing!
If it was abit later than 5 to 2 I would say have a G&T or 3!0 -
Ha ha ha ay i have thought of spying. Im not happy they still have for sale sign up
Your right I think ill just forget about it now, see what happens!0 -
Kat, they have a bird in the hand, which is better than 2 in the bush
Basically, unless someone comes along with a handful of readies, they are likely to stick with you if you are spending money already and keeping on your toes.

Thanks Lil Dee
I am just so nervous incase it falls through as I feel we have had a bargain, house was up at 185k in Sept, dropped to 175k in Nov dropped to 165k in Jan, we offered 140k in Jan - rejected, waited a month saved a bit more, offered 145k last week it was accepted. It was left on the website at 165k for the last week with it saying sold stc still view then yesterday they reduced it to 145k on the website and i am worried this is going to attract people in their shed loads??????
Anyone seeing an asking price of 145k is going to offer at least 10% below, which is not going to be a problem for you. personally, i would be much more worried that you are over-paying.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Thanks hethmar, i feel better now.
Was just watching the news and apparently mortgage lending is at an all time low, so while they say there is alot more interest these people are obviously not buying are they??0 -
Cannot see why all the fuss, if it falls through just get another one. Theres loads about.0

GDB2222 I have done my homework and personally i think i have paid what its worth, this house sold in 2005 for 194,995 (ok maybe overpriced) but prices continued to go up until the end of 2007. Therefore for argument sake lets assume this house stayed at this value and did not increase, are you saying that in 2008 house prices dropped 26% (because thats what 145/195 is) most people will agree they dropped about 10-12%0

My thought exactly! When buying, you need to have two or three good options on the go. When selling, it really helps to have two buyers. (Or in this case, do as the sellers are doing so as to keep the only buyer they have absolutely red hot and panting for it.)No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
actually ILW there isnt an awful lot about it depends where you live, and beleive it or not I am buying a house to be my home.0
