Things to do at Stansted?

My company are flying us out to Rome via Stansted with Ryanair.

We have a 4.5 Hr stop over outward and 3 Hr inward. The servisair lounge clearly states that it isn't available to Ryanair passengers.

What is there to do and is there anywhere you can go for quiet and relaxation?

I was stuck there for several hours following a cancellation.

I walked to the nearby SAS Radission hotel, which has a comfortable lobby and of course sells high-quality refreshments. Unfortunately there is constant background "music" which might interfere with attempts to work.

Perhaps you could get your company to pay for use of a room during your wait.

If you dont want to shop, eat or drink there is not much to do. You also need to bear in mind that you will be taking 2 flights in each direction so will need to go through customers, check in and security at Stansted, plus the walk back to the boarding gate. This will use up a good hour at a guess.

  • What I would really like is a lounge I could use for a comfortable seat, wi-fi and a couple of drinks in peace and quiet.
