Opened a halifax reg saver online and it has given me sort code, account number and a roll number, im planning on setting up a standing order from another provider, but do I need to quote just the sort code and account number or all three as above??
Also, applied for barclays reg saver about 2 weeks ago, got the confirmation email to say they have received application but heard nothing, and the branch said they couldnt help as i did it all online, i try and ring them lunchtime (but dnt get through and only have 1/2 hr lunch and dont get home till late and the line is for the business so cant hold the line up for long? Is anyone in the same position??
Can anyone help me please
TIA

Re: Halifax RS: Give Sort code-account number as usual, and use the roll-number as the reference.
Can't help with the Barclays RS. Try re-applying through the branch?Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I would get the initial funding of the Halifax account sorted fairly rapidly.
The rate has dropped 2% during a period that has seen base rate cuts of 4%+.
I would expect a further fall in the Regular Saver rate and you will get whatever rate is in force on the day you make your first deposit.0 -
I have a question on Halifax Regular saver - I'm thinking of upping my standing order to £500 for the remaining months whilst it is at 7%(I think) and just looking back at the history I'm wondering if my payment dates met criteria.
opened 14/05/07 with £250, then 12 more payments starting 04/06/07 till 06/05/08. Then on 14/05/08 the total balance was swept to the nominated account. Did the 13 payments meet criteria for the correct interest ?
Since then 9 payments made and 3 more scheduled before 14/05/09. This one will be 12 payments in total. But of course the payment I make on 04/05 will only earn 10 days interest so I'm thinking it is not worth transferring it out of 3% savings for so few days.0 -

A) Yes .... fairly usual to finish with 13 payments in the first year. In particular with an anniversary mid - late in the month.Depends. If you're going to continue the RS a further year you need to make a payment in May. But you can do that prior to 14th May (and have it swept .... best, therefore to get it in closest 1st May?). Or - if continuing - leave it with 11 payments this year - get one in 14th / 15th May and then 1st June et seq.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
