Sony Ericsson S500i

I got my Sony Ericsson S500i from the Carphone Warehouse last Aug/Sept and the keys have been cracking on it for quite a while, it's only now that the # key is really playing up. It's on contract and I didn't pay anything towards it, it's just a monthly rental - but my problem is I have misplaced the paperwork/receipt for it, would they do anything without the receipt? and would it even be covered?

no, they may not do anything without the receipt - but the keys cracking was a known issue on the early w580/s500 batches. the paint used on the keys reacted with the plastic keys and caused the cracking issue0

I guess it won't worth paying for it to be repaired, is this an excuse to buy another phone?!!!!!!!! :-) or is it worth trying the Carphone Warehouse first?0

Just for anyone who finds themself in the similar situation, I took my phone back to the CPW without the receipt and luckily the same woman who served me was there - so she has sent it off for repair, she said it was because I had the phone closed when charging it and that's why the keys crack........ but I had an accident with it a couple of months ago, I accidently spilt some liquid on it and I didn't think it had got into the phone, but it has so it might not last for long anyway! Can you claim on your house insurance for those sort of things?0

never heard such a bad lie from a phone shop!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
charging the phone with it open or closed doesnt make a difference. it was more than likely where the paint had reacted with the keys like i said in my last post0
