erm...... aren't most gypsies actually white?

    Also they CHOOSE their lifestyle.

so do you think all white people are one race and all black people are one other race?

actually, there is only one race. the human race. dividing humans into separate races when we are infact a unified species is racist in itself.

i can't believe some of the comments on here that are getting thanks.

Gosh, ninky, you've managed to cut through learned thesis and decades of debate and scientific research in one bland, but rather endearing, statement.

Is your comment 'there is only one race, the human race' based on indepth research and theoretical discussions around species, genus, DNA etc, or did you read it in a 'Big Bumper Book of John Lennon Cliches' by any chance?

    Well you would, wouldnt you?

Imagine no possessions indeed. A noble sentiment from a man with a gold Rolls Royce ;)

I have no idea about this race thing. I always liked to think there were at least two races. Me, and everyone else.

My brother is a landscape gardener and fairly busy, as a lot of people simply can't do the work of sawing big frees and bushes, and all sorts of other heavy jobs.

We were chewing the fat earlier and he was saying how peeed off he gets with a certain type of customer, which many of us self employed have learned to stear clear of.
One Ms teacher type had him visit the garden centre with her for 4 hours, and then later expected him to knock that time off the bill! As if she had graced him with her wonderful company.

So often a certain type of mean, short sighted control freak client type just doesn't understand business. IF HE HADN'T BEEN TRAPSING AROUND A GDN CENTRE WITH HER HE WOULD HAVE BEEN EARNING CASH ON ANOTHER JOB - GET IT???

If the original question was 'straight' (which I suspect it was not) then I'd answer that I'd be less likely to employ an odd-job man but more likely to swap skills.

I'm an accomplished cook. If I knew a builder or skilled DIY bloke I'd be happier in hard times to go to him and say, "If you can fix my fence then I'll chef for your 30th Anniversary party (or whatever)."

Just to keep dervish happy, I will only employ illegal immigrants from now on. British workers are fat, lazy, boorish and smell of last night's pizza and drinking binge. Plus, the discoloured sweat stains on their tired and ill-fitting England football shirts puts me off my breakfast.

    Isnt that racist?

I am still using odd job men for various jobs, and have just drawn up a list of other jobs I want doing, Either I dont have the relevant skills or the spare time to do them myself.

In the last year, I have hired two local odd job men and a polish guy, all did a good days work to my satisfaction. I couldnt give a fig if the odd job men are Gypsies, locals polish or martians as long as they do a good job.

Probably. But only against fat, boorish beerswilling Brits in sweaty umbro kits.
