misold ppi

hi i was wondering if anyone could help egg misold me a ppi on a loan which totals 1248.00 thats with the interest i paid on top they have admitted fault and took ppi off which reduced my monthly payments and i requested the amont that i have already paid to the insurance to be refunded back to me but they have further credited it to my outstanding loan amount which i didnt want i could do with that money paid to me can they do this ??? i have complained but no one answers my emails and nobody ever calls me back any advice would be much apprieciated thanks.

Hi from what i understand that is normally what they do. You could try to get the cash back but they would have refinanced the loan I would presume by now. Try writing rather than ringing, Good luck anyway.

I to have requested that the monies are paid directly to me. Did you specifically ask for this in your letter. I would have assumed it was a perfectly reasonable request as the money belongs to YOU and not the lender. They have no right to dispose of YOUR money, that decission is for you alone. Definately write to them, this way you have a documented record, phone calls can be ambigous and you may lose times,dates and content if you need the records for future reference. Really p's me off to think they can just take off loan/card and not give it back in entirity to its rightful owner. As they gave it away to someone else I would ask for a compensation payment also for inconvenience and time spent reclaiming what has been deemed rightfully yours, good luck

Hi, I have just been looking at FOS info on compensation, you may want to have a look as there is plenty to read especially regarding comp for durress, pain and suffering etc where lenders have not acted appropriately, ie paying YOU what is yours. There is also sections on comp for the amount of time you spend trying to sort this out. It covers time, post, phone calls etc. hope you find it interesting. I know I said that dont phone BUT phone FOS for advise and get clarity on whether they are obliged to pay you back directly monies owed, they probably will put you straight . thanks mike thats great have contacted fso today and logged a formal complaint with them now hopefully they will see that egg are acting unfairly considering they misold it in the first place will have a look at that compo thing definetly want my call costs back once again thanks
