We have a Toshiba laptop and today was charging absolutely fine.
Disconnected it a couple of hours ago, and now I've gone to charge it again and it looks like inside the computer the bit the charger inserts into is now just a black hole with no connection. We've no idea where it's gone or whats happened to it.
Will this be covered under the guarantee or anything or anything we can do?

Sounds like the mains socket has detached inside the casing. Can you hear anything rattling inside? Assuming you haven't dropped it or snagged the mains lead to cause a strain on it, this should be fixed under warranty.
How old is it?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi , ive just had my daughters toshiba laptop repaired under warranty for the same problem . I think it's a common fault.0

It's about 7 months old now. We're going to take it back to PC World tomorrow and see if they'll fix it, which hopefully they should.
I'm sure it must have just became detached somehow. It's weird cos I didn't uplug it any differently to usual0 -
Make sure you've for a full backup before you let PCWorld touch the laptop
You might find they just replace it instead of repairing it, depending on how easy it might be to fix.Laters
