    WHY? :confused:

    Must take all of 5 seconds to pull the plunger out, whip the screw off the bottom and then drop the components into the dishwasher, before rinsing the grounds out of the jug :confused::confused:

    And another 5 seconds for re-assembly

    :confused::confused::confused::confused:

    Oh yes! So it does!
    Am I the only !!!!!! who doesn't take her plunger apart to wash every time? :o

    Have to admit to not doing it every time :o. But I do it once a day - especially with the small one that gets used a couple of times each day. The bigger one only gets used about once a week/fortnight so I have to make sure that one gets taken apart each time as I don't know when it'll next get used - don't like the idea of damp coffee grounds getting trapped for ages :(.

    No, I never do. I unscrew it slightly, rinse out the grains, and pop it in the dishwasher. It never has to come undone properly, and comes out spotless each time. Yay for dishwashers!

    When I was a (fairly gross) student I used to wash it properly only about once a fortnight and just rinsed it the rest of the time. The coffee never tasted any different! Once though my (now) ex-gf took it to pieces to wash it and lost the screw. I couldn't then drink coffee for several weeks until my mum bought me a new screw to fit it! I would never have forgiven her but she later bought me a brand new one when I stupidly used a metal spoon to stir it and it cracked and leaked. It was during Finals revision - I almost cried. :o

    Hi Reverbe - just wondering if you managed to sort out your cafetiere yet ;)? You must be dying for a proper coffee by now :rolleyes:.
