How about checking out the BBC website and see what free tickets you could apply for. Sure there's plenty of variety depending on your tastes.0

How about city breaks? You could go by train or car and look out for premier lodges or B&B's. Explore local points of interest without over exerting him. Sometimes it's nice to have a change of scene.0

Martin's free Ideal Home tickets at Earls Court? They are for the evenings, but perhaps you could have a picnic in one of London's parks first?0

How about trying encaustic art? Its great fun-you dont need to be artistic in any way-its quick and easy, dosent take up much room-shoe box size for storing the iron ,card and waxes, needed. you use a special electric iron to place coloured wax onto sealed card-you create fasinating pictures that contain all sorts of weird and wonderful things like faces and animals! It takes seconds to do and they dry in seconds after-- My hubby does it when we do the craft fairs. I dont know how to put pictures on here but there are some examples of it on my website www.dianetheartist.com
If you want to know more please ask.I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0 -
If you like dogs maybe you could borow a nice quiet one to take for walks, it's too much to get a new puppy right now, I know my Dad did that and it ended up with us. Could you borrow a wii game console and the fitness games, some can be played when sitting down. Many computer games are very absorbing, especially the fantasy ones like Black and White where you create your own world, quite old now and very cheap to buy, I don't mean the thrash and kill action type games. Regaining confidence is all important in convalecense, maybe learning to cook? it's what I did during my convalesence and it's still a hobby today. or planning what to do with the garden next year, making plans and charts and finding out about the plants etc. Daytime TV is aimed at women mainly and I don't have much problem finding something to watch for an hour or so. Anyway good luck to you both, plan a holiday for when he is recovered and have something to look forward to0
