a friend recently got one of those. looks lovely, but the filter is useless, keeps falling out and back into the kettle, every time your pour.

That does not sound too good!

If it does that it will be going back even at half price.

I have read reviews on it though and seemed ok, so we will see :rolleyes:

I have never touched the filter and never had an issue with it.

I gave one to a relative and they have a problem with it. You don't actually need it, so I would chuck it away myself.

I have had an issue with the lid - the handle works loose and you have to retighten it occasionally.

On the positive side - it looks great, is very quite and fast!

Boots had it as an offer of the month at the same price. It certainly was about £80. I would recommend it on balance.

They're not a great design IMO, I'd steer clear. Reminds me of the £90 Siemens Porsche kettles that broke after a year.

But Co-op department stores have them half price at £39.99 too if you really must.

Me, I bought a Kenwood stainless steel model today from Argos reduced to £19.99 and it's better made than the Eon e.g. proper steel interior, not plastic lined like the Eon. They even do a new version that lights up inside for £34.99 if you like chavvy stuff

Avoid plastic lined metal kettles as they tend to leak after a while - my previous Rowenta had just started peeing over the power base, not exactly safe!

LX Direct also do this kettle at 39.99 I bought it and used a £10 discount code also bought the matching toaster with another code so got the two for £60 so very pleased with them both.

We have one of these at work that's still going strong. Had it since they first came out.
