Financial Hardship Question...?

Hi
I just wanted to clarify something I know I've read somewhere on this site...
I want to put in a claim to Halifax, as my wife and I are having a baby soon and have in the last 2 years also bought a house and got married...a fair bit of expense and on the back of that, I've taken out some debt that i want to try and clear.
Having looked at the criteria for filing a hardship claim, I don't tick all the boxes, as my wife and I do both earn a decent salary...however, I have suffered more than £500 of a/c charges during the year
I did also go through a spell a few years back where i was getting hit for charges every month so my overall claim should be for a decent amount.
Can I claim back via the hardship rules on the back of the fact i've had more then £500 of charges taken in the year, or must I tick the boxes of other hardship criteria to claim back using this method.
My debt payments are high and we are considering a consolidation loan though timely success with my claim would help us to free more money up.
Would appreciate your advice. Thanks

There are people out there who are in genuine financial hardship, you are obviously not. Do you think it is right for you to clog up the system for those in real need?0

Possibly not, my question was borne out of a desire to be ready to financially support my family during a time of obvious heavy expense. It wasn't intended as a way to circumvent the rules to get my money back quickly.0

The hardship criterea is not specific in terms of how many boxes you tick. There is no harm in trying. From the point you tell the bank you think you are in hardship they have 8 weeks in which to tell you if they agree or not.
Ask them for an Income/Expenditure form. Do you have a claim for bank charges already?0 -
SteveH, the FSA hardship is on my signature. Target your letter based on PAGE 11 of the link on my signature. If they say No then it may be a NO. Most financial institutions from my reading of the threads are paying out if there are things such as rent/mortgage arrears and utilities arrears. If you are currently struggling to meet payments you may not specifically be classed as in hardship(normally extreme). However, there is nothing that says that you cannot put a claim in and if your circumstances worsen, asking the bank to re look at your case.0

I talked to Barclys this afternoon because they are taking me to court over my mortgage. The woman said I need to go into the branch and tell them. Does that sound right?0
