To all BR's.....

To all BR's I am just entering into this deep and dark tunnel (not applied for as yet!) and I was wondering:-
1) Are you happy with your decision to take on a BR? - Very
2) Would you do it again? I hope not
3) Why not an IVA? No assets or property at risk of losing
Indecision I am afraid and looking for guidance, can you help?
But decisions have to be based on personal circumstances and what is best for the individual/s concerned. A debt advice agency are best placed to offer advice on that one.

Just to clarify, in answer to no.2 about would I do it again, I assumed you were asking if I went back in time, and the decision had to be made again, would I make the same decision. The answer to that is yes.
If I assumed wrongly, and you were asking about the future I plan on making sure I am not in that position ever again in the future.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

I was a bit naughty there and answered it as if it was for a second time when I knew that the OP meant if I was to do it over again.....
Sorry

I have my court date tomorrow and since i made the decision to go BR, ive felt very guilty as I felt as if i gave up. On the other hand i know ive been a better person as im no longer worrying about the debts.
Would I do it again: In the future no, because I hope to learn from my mistakes
Why not an IVA? Because I couldnt afford to even consider it.
Any way, read as much as you can on here and then make up your mind. Only you can make the decision.:beer:0 -
To all BR's I am just entering into this deep and dark tunnel (not applied for as yet!) and I was wondering:-
1) Are you happy with your decision to take on a BR?
Yes, absolutely, even though its been a very emotional and difficult time.
2) Would you do it again?
I will never ever get myself in that position again.
3) Why not an IVA?
It wasn't suitable, BR was suggested as my best course of action, we were prepared to lose our home and wanted a fresh start.
Indecision I am afraid and looking for guidance, can you help?
Hope that helps.

1) Are you happy with your decision to take on a BR? very emotional & changed my life completely
2) Would you do it again? IF circumstances changed for the worse maybe...but credit is a dirty word now so doubt it would happen
3) Why not an IVA? finished from work due to Ill health so only income was benefits
Indecision I am afraid and looking for guidance, can you help?

1) Are you happy with your decision to take on a BR?
Yes. I'm not proud of going bankrupt but I'm not ashamed of it either. My debts got out of hand and I was borrowing just to make payments. It got to the point where I didn't have a reason to live so I would say that it saved my life. I think the hardest part was accepting that I needed to go bankrupt.
2) Would you do it again?
I don't regret going bankrupt but I do regret getting into debt in the first place. I won't get into debt again.
3) Why not an IVA?
An IVA wasn't suitable for me. Generally suitable if you have property and enough disposable income.
Indecision I am afraid and looking for guidance, can you help?
You should get advice before going bankrupt as it's a big decision with consequences. Hope that helps.0 -
I am also one of the many who are going br. It is really scary and a complete fear of the unknown. Once I made the decision it did feel better knowing that I was doing something positive about my situation, should have done it a long time age. Although there are very dark times when you feel that you have failed.
I hope that I will never ever be in this situation again.
An IVA was not an option for me, br was my only option.
Don't know if any of this is any help but you will get the best advice here and everyone is so understanding and a huge source of information. Had lbm, switched it off too many times. Now am trying to sort my life out :T:T

To all BR's I am just entering into this deep and dark tunnel (not applied for as yet!) and I was wondering:-
1) Are you happy with your decision to take on a BR? Yes... its no breeze and not the easy way out but yes
2) Would you do it again? Yes... but if I had the chance to do things again I wouldn't take out credit in the 1st place
3) Why not an IVA? Wages are very unsettled due to illness so not an option for me to commit to paying more than I currently am for that length of time
Indecision I am afraid and looking for guidance, can you help?
Its an entirely personal decision that only you can make.
Best wishes

Personally my thoughts on BR are....if its the last resort then....quite frankly... IT IS THE LAST RESORT !!
Take professional, impartial advice & if that advice gives BR then so be it.
If debts are untenable then there really isn`t any other way.
Its tough & there are lots of `ifs & buts` ( don`t I know it!!) but most people will have suffered such hardship trying to just `get by` that sometimes there is just no strength left to fight anymore.
Take care & I wish you well.
