BG Customer moving from a Credit Meter to a house with a pre-payment.????
Can I simply ring BG, stay with them through the process to get the meters changed to credit meters?
I been with BG for 1.2 years, so have a good credit record with them... im loath to pay someone 100+ quid to replace meters that aren't my fault being installed there.

1. Is the property yours or are you renting it? If you are renting it, you need the LL's permission to change the meters.
If you are buying it, BG didn't charge me anything when I took over a property which had a PPM in. I simply asked them to replace it with a credit meter which they agreed to do - took about 2 weeks after I had an account set up at the new property for them to chnage the meter.
2. Is the current supplier at the property you are moving to currently supplied by BG? When you move in you will need to take over the account with the existing supplier. You can then switch supplier if you want.
Edit: just seen that the current supplier to the new property is EDF. You'll need to take over the supplies of EDF and then switch to BG if you want BG to be the supplier

As long as you have had a credit meter with British gas in the previous 6 months and ran your account correctly there will be no charge or credit vet. I work for BG.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
