I had an incorrect glasses prescription from Boots, which I only noticed after the new glasses where made at Specsavers. After getting a second opinion from Specsavers, they confirmed that my prescription was incorrect and offered to replace the lenses free of charge. A very nice store manager indeed and boo to Boots.

tecnically it was boots problem and they are liable to retest you and put things right - are you sure it the prescription was wrong and not the glasses were made up incorrectly!! most opticians are very quick to aportion blame!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
The prescription (free) was from Boots but the glasses were ordered and paid from Specsavers. I noticed significant deterioration in sight with the new specs when compared to the old ones so I asked for a second opinion and had another eye test (paid) at Specsavers, which confirmed that my existing prescription from Boots was incorrect. Specsavers confirmed that it was unlikely that my sight got worse by 0.75 before returning to better in 10 months time, the same prescription as I had before the Boots test.
So yes, if I had to pay £70 for the new replacement lenses for my specs, I would ask Boots to reimburse me. I wouldn't trust Boots with another I test because they got it so wrong.0
