Help with what to do please....

My first post so hoping it goes ok!!!

I wanted a bit of info really please? In short, I have purchased a beauty course, kit and lamp through a beauty college. After completing the course I found I was having problems so went to the product owners direct (not back to the college for advice). They have offered me to go on one of their 2 day courses (free of charge) which I did. This was in Leicester (a 2.5 hr drive away from me) and I had to stay at the hotel over night costing me around £100 in all.

On that course, it came to light that I had been issued with a 9watt lamp and this was not correct as it wouldn't cure the gel on a clients nails. It should have been a 36 watt lamp. I also realised that some of the training was completely different to the "proper" training course provided by the product owners. Some of the techniques and methods shown to me originally could of had an impact on the problems I'd been having with my clients.

I went back to the Beauty college and told them that the lamp they had provided was not fit for purpose and therefore they had to supply me with a new one but to no avail. I worte to them 2 weeks ago formally giving them 2 weeks to rectify the situation. I heard nothing. Now I find out this week the Beauty college has gone bust!!!

I paid for the course, kit and lamp as one payment costing over £500 on my husbands credit card. Therefore, I know I can claim for the lamp through the credit card company as it was not fit for purpose but what about the cost of the course? And the cost of staying at the hotel to rectify the training, etc.


Any advice would be greatly received. Sorry for the essay!!!!
