I am a single mother, 3 children, work part time. I desperately want to know if this is possible, or if the government have put into place any grants/schemes which I may qualify for and also are there any reputable mortgage lenders out there will to give someone like me a mortgage ? Katey

Do you have a deposit? I am not aware that being a single mum with kids makes you entitled to a mortgage/help getting one. Otherwise everybody would be having kids!!
You could maybe try CAB, or have a look online0 -
Are you on the council waiting list for a place?0

As long as within realms of affordability mortgage companies don't care about your personal life nor the numbers of hours worked.
At the moment they'd liek you to have 20-25% deposit and will lend between around 2.5 and 3 times your income - so you might not be lent a large mortgage but most reputable companies will consider you for an appropriately sized one...0
