"In the sticks" and supply of LPG often don't go together. I'll love to do LPG and get a 6 cylinder petrol with better fuel costs, but the nearest LPG station is 20-25 minutes away in a direction I don't often travel :(
  • Thank you so much for all your replies. Very useful info. You may have gathered from my original post my circumstances have changed for the worse. My hubby usually does all the vehicle purchases. We were just about to replace the disco when out of nowhere he had a stroke!

My hubby is the sole wage earner and self employed. My daughter is now working every hour she can and i am worried she will jepordise her gcse's. I am now going to have to be a full time carer and it seems that I may have to have a vehicle capable of loading wheelchair into as well as towing 2 cobs and doing other towing work

Things are not looking good I will post again when i know for definite if I have tio have a wheelchair vehicle.

Good luck OP. Hope things improve. Guess it will be best to stick with what you have until you know how well your husband will be.

Great value, much cheaper to run as its front wheel drive on the road, only engaging 4 wheels when needed. NOT going to be the most powerful for towing though.

probably way too late for the op but just in case here goes, but there isnt really such a thing as an economical ful size capable off roader that can tow heavy farm machinery. if i was in that position i would do the bare minimum to keep the landrover running but sorn it and let the mot run out, leave it at the paddock purely for the off road use and towing and buy a reasonably capable softroader for the road. the x trail dci is very economical in real world use, i had one on hire for a couple of weeks and loaded up with ladders and heavy tools and parts was getting 41 mpg, where my 1.9cdti vectra was getting only 36 mpg in the same usage.it was not bad off road either, took it for a play down the green lanes. even cheaper to run is a 1.9tdi 4x4/4motion/quattro skoda/vw/audi if you only need gentle off road capabilities.
