Zone alarm Forcefield

Because of recent scares my friends have had, I decided to have a belt and braces security on the net. I already have the full Zone alarm suite (paid for version) but I thought Id add on the Z.A. Forcefield.

I paid and downloaded it last night. Since then, all though I dont click on the private browser tab (which deletes all browsing, cookies and passwords when you log out) I have lost all of them! Its maddening.

On top of that, the puter hangs when I close down and I have to manually switch off.

Anyone have this program?

I went to the ZA assistance and waited 10 minutes to speak online to their techis who told me "it always does that". I said No it doesnt, it says there is an option to have private browser but there is no where to disable it" Pause, "Oh, we arent very technical here, try emailing ZA" Brilliant:mad:

Probably an unhelpful comment, but this is why you download the free trial first whenever it's available.

It might be worth registering on the Zone Alarm forum. Someone there might be able to help you.

Not always a good idea. I tried Acronis on a free trial, when I paid for it - it was **** !
It wouldn't believe I'd paid for it, the Acronis "help" was also **** - luckily I got the paid version from Amazon and they gave me a refund.

Google it for problems - I wish I had !

PS: I ditched Zone Alarm after one of their updates, problem after problem !

Well the zone alarm suite is fine. It was just this extra protection - forcefield that has caused problems. Ive got a refund for it now and Im still sorting out the probs it caused.

By the way, anyone had any probs with VISTA and system restore. Ive never had to use it before on here but when I tried it was just unsuccessful every time - unspecified error.

Its quite possible the forcefield has stopped it working properly somehow. Id guess that next time you SET a restore point, it will be ok.

Well, I have to apologise to zonealarm - I spent all yesterday round to 2.30 a.m. trying to sort this prob and finally reliased it was due to FF3.06 having a conflict with my puter programs. Ive now got rid of 3.06 and am back on a 2.02 version and everything is hunky dorey again.
