  • You could try visiting places like ikea, you can get some great ideas for designing your new home from there.

i won a laura ashley competition which was £1000 of goods and an interior designer visit my house and gave me designboards for upto three rooms!!!!!
it was fun i had bathroom, master bedroom and lounge done!!!!!!!then i made all my own curtains and blinds (from their material)so the money did actually do the whole of the bathroom and bedroom with plenty of towels, bedding(duvet king size, pillows,2 throws cushions!!) shower curtain, wallpaer, bedside lamps and even a brass lamp (worth £99 for stand alone) for lounge which i will keep forever as a reminder of my win!!!!!!!!!!!
inerior designers are great they really are good with colour schemes and laura ashley is definately recommended to those who want one!!!!!!!
    good luck! :T

Why dont you look through magazines and cut out pictures of things you like. Also ask your daughter to do the same then take a trip to ikea of M&S or internacional and see if you can find stuff like the pictures. Or a cheaper alternative may be to move round the furniture in your home, make or buy new curtains and cushions or quilt covers. Put new handles on cupboards and maybe frame some family photographs to make it more homely. Get reid of any old tired out furniture and come up with a plan for saving for something new.

Why not go and have a look at show homes in your area?

They are created by interior designers and whilst some of them are probably a bit OTT, you may be able to take a few ideas from each....and its free!!

I love noseying around show houses! :j

    Hi Medical,

A friend of mine is an interior designer - he's in the London area. If that's any use to you, PM me and I'll give you his details.
