My dad recently went over his overdraft by mistake but can anyone explain what the charges mean please?
Advance overdraft interest £2.62
Instant overdraft request fee
Paid item direct debit..... £35.00
Unauthorised overdraft/
instant overdraft monthly fee £25.00
Total amount £62.82
His overdraft was £300 and he was overdrawn by £322.37
We got the statement today so I rushed down with £400 to clear it for him but this was done on 10th Feb. will there be more charges ?

Interest accrued while overdrawn is the 1st one. For having a DD go through without enough funds is the 2nd one and the last one is for going overdrawn without arrangement. That should be all the charges. His next statement on the 1st page will detail any further charges. The branch might be able stop anymore if this is the case, as it easier to waiver them beforehand than when they have actually gone out.
May be worth checking if his OD can be increased just as a safety net so it does not happen again.0 -
it's an awful lot of money isn't it for £22 over the limit0

It is i suppose! If your dad has not had any charges refunded before then there is a good chance the branch might be able to refund some or all of them.
If you go to a branch at 4.55 and ask they will be eager to get ready for home and want you out, they will defo refund them!!0
