can u please check my first letter????

Options
I purchased the above policy from you in 14/06/2005 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reason.

This is due to the fact that I contacted you previously and you informed me that I could not cancel the insurance sold with my loan. As the FSA has now stated ‘no refund’ terms are considered unfair I would like my original cancellation request to be honored .

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the insurance policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

I took this off the template but there was no mention of insurance so I ADDED that part in (in bold text) do u think this is ok or should i take it off and stick to the original? Also has anyone had sucess from abbey?

    Hi hun
Yes this is fine, and glad you added your other reasons as well.

There have been many success with these I believe, if not direct with themselves, if this went further for some reason for example if they did not satisfy your complaint, you should have the chance to move this on to the financial ombudsman service.

However, have you had the chance to check this out on the success thread here?

Another letter maybe required if they have not settled your complaint, not gone in your favour then or until you receive the final decision, keep us posted in case you require any further help.

    Fingers crossed to you.;)

    Hi Oakleigh

That should be fine if you believe you were miss sold in this way that is fine. Have you tried ringing them first and asking? It is always worth a go. Just be aware that they may record the conversation so be aware of what you are saying.

If that is no go then send the letter in your own words as you have done here.

Always make sure you keep copies of all correspondence. send recorded delivery and give eight weeks for them to respond.

    Good luck to you Oakleigh;)
