best buy memory sticks for sony camera?

Hi all,

I've bought a DSC P52 sony digital camera and would now like to buy a 512MB memory stick. I've been quite surprised how expensive the memory sticks are and how much the prices vary.
Could anyone please give me any advice on where to buy at the cheapest price.

The cheapest is probably from a US seller on ebay. Sony brand is more expensive than other brands, e.g. Sandisk.

Try ebuyer I bought 256mb of sandisk memory stick pro from them recently, they were the cheapest I could find.

Or you could try a price comparison site like here.

I just got mine from unbeatable - 29.99 for a sony 256Mb one in the sale.

Last year the best price for a sony memory stick was from the amazon market place, quite a saving if i remember right

I've ordered a Sony 256mb from Ebay for £18 + £2 p&p... I just have to wait to see if it arrives now.

I've asked my hubby to have a look in the US for a bigger one for me because he's going in the new year and no doubt they will be a lot cheaper than here.

Was gonna contribute to this thread, but It's already been said - Sony are more expensive and Sandisk are a good alternative. Sony didn't even invent the memory stick! There is another company beginning with "L" but my internet research didn't find them to be the cheapest.
