Web Hosting Problems

Not sure where to put this so Im trying here. I am with streamline.net
And informed them that I did not want a domain with them renewed. I also took my credit card off their system.
This Jan they renewed the domain and charged me £61. I have tried talking to thwm but they came back with a reply of "their terms and conditions changed in Dec 08 and they sent me a copy" I didnt receive this.
What advice does anybody have in getting my money back.

probabily contact your credit card company, and inform them of the unuauthorised transaction0

Oh dear, Streamline got another person. You're not alone in this matter, believe me. They are quite possibly the world's worst hosting company. They are rude, unhelpful, slow and it also appears that they like to catch people out and get them signed up even though they want to cancel.

I had several hostings with them at one time. I now have NONE. They are the worst possible company to deal with, their customer services is zero and the hosting is slow as well.
I did the same as you and removed my Credit Card details, hope they don't catch me out.
I would talk to your credit card company and report it as an unauthorised transaction.

Thanks for the prompt replies. Thro research on the net have found this is a very big problem. Spoke to my credit card company who said without evidence of me cancelling the payment they cant do anything.
So I told them to cancel the card so no more payments could be taken, and was informed that it would not stop payments as it was setup like a direct debit!
Have written to tading standards. Dont no what else to do. Will also now accrue interest on my credit card.

Do you not have a record of asking Streamline for a cancellation? I assume you did it via their ticketing system?0

Streamline.net did this to me too. Completley illegal, and yet they get away with it. At least when you claim back its more straight forward. Visa must see the word streamline and think theft?0
