Exercise dvds

Mam has arthritis in her spine which prevents her bending down too much. She has been advised by her doctor to exercise a little more, but I am struggling to find dvds that avoid bending etc. I have found some for disabilities, but they tend to be sitting down ones. She can stand no problem (at the mo touch wood!), so light exercise would be ok. The dvds in the shops are too expensive to try and see if they are suitable or not.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

All the charity shops near my house sell exercise DVDs and videos for anything from 50p to £2. I'd have a look around them!Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0

I wonder whether she might be able to cope with Tai Chi? No bending, gentle movement, great for balance and flexibility etc. I have mobility and balance problems, but find Tai Chi works well.
There's a very good DVD for beginners/seniors, which is easy to follow and very gentle. See link here:

There are loads of other similar DVDs on Amazon, and pretty cheap or second hand ones as well.
Hope this helps.0 -
Does your mum swim? I have arthritis in my spine and have found regular swimming helpful.0

I did an online course for chronic pain and the best exercise was conducting.
Have your mum sit in a chair, put on her favorite music and let her conduct.
It sounds easy but it isn't. It took me several days before I could finish a song and was so excited when I could do Meatloaf's 'Bat Out of Hell' without stopping. It does raise your heart rate and exercises the top half of the body. If she's good maybe she can march in time to the music too when she is sitting.0 -
