Will you be buying shares in Lloyds TSB?

If you already own the shares, you are already involved. Its just mainly of case do I commit more money or not afaik
I think lowest risk no money would be to tell lloyds to sell some shares at market to buy the ones at 38p - tail swallowing
Doing nothing means lloyds sell your allocated extra shares and give you back the difference over 38p in cash.
If I had zero belief in the company I guess this the easy no commission way to draw back some income without losing a stake I guess
Except why do you own these shares at all if you dont think they are worth holding at 38p cost? This doesnt make sense to me
If viewing lloyds as cheap in long term I think over subsribing if possible to gain as much at 38p would do it
dark clouds on the horizon as alwaysLloyds warns Government may rejig toxic debt plan
The part-nationalised bank warned shareholders the state may raise the cost of accessing its toxic debt insurance scheme.

Has the nationalisation of Lloyds been completely ruled out?0

Nothing is ever ruled out...
I'm taking up the 38p offer. My average after the 1:40 and this will be about 49p per share and I think in the long term that's going to be bloody great.0 -

You can't oversubscribe any longer, LBG have removed that clause from the initial statement in March in the final prospectus. You can only apply for the maximum entitlement.
I will be taking up my full rights but will be tail swallowing. I already have more than I want to be involved and will probably end up with a reduced investment but the same number of shares.
I would be surprised if people don't take up this offer, its still heavily discounted and a good offer and you can always sell to buy back at a guaranteed cheaper price.0 -
Can I jump in here and ask a really novice question? I am trying to work out the historic price of some shares - Yahoo gives it at 93.00. Am I correct in thinking that is actually 93p per share held? Sorry if this is the wrong place but I just can't seem to be sure about that pesky decimal point!!!!0

what history do you mean, they have been 93p and now they are about 2/3 of that because of this share issue

That's very helpful thank you - needed to know value when someone died.0 -
That's very helpful thank you - needed to know value when someone died.
be careful, if thats becuase you need to give the value for IHT purposes then HMRC will need 2 prices for the shares on the date of death, the rule is explained in the IHT 200 workbook, along with the link for where to obtain (at a cost!!) the correct, acceptable, values.
the single values availble on the web are not acceptable for the IHT calculation0 -

Why did the share price drop overnight, if it was common knowledge the the Open Offer would result in a lower price why were people still buying at about 98p 20th May. Why didn't the price drop long before 21st May? I'm confoozed.0 -
. Why didn't the price drop long before 21st May? I'm confoozed.
do you understand what is meant by an ex date, if not try reading it up because its rather crucial you understand this fundamental issue if you want to play with shares, as that explains why prices "drop overnight"
eg:
ex dividend
and, as applicable in this case: EX RIGHTS
go back a few posts in this thread and the other 3 threads also duplicating the Lloyds discussion as it has already been explained - hint: 8am 20th May0
