Hardly anyone can get a mortgage at the minute (poppysarah's post got me thinking) If you do try and get one, the lenders will look at every detail in your credit history and any mistake you will most likely be turned away.
However, as we have seen, the banks have made huge cockups with there finances and lost more money than any of us. So we are giving them money out of our tax to help them!
So they get our money no questions asked, but we can't get anything off them. Hypocrisy?
I think i should be allowed to view the banks' credit history and decide whether they should get any of my hard earned money!

I think the government should have shared out the £270 Billion they gave the banks to individuals - everyone would have paid off their debts, mortgages and bought houses, cars and spent, spent, spent - that would have helped us spend our way out of a recession!0

For a start they should not be giving out bloomin bonuses. Having worked in a bank a few years ago there is no way I would be expecting a bonus with all their losses!0

Deposits should have been saved not the banks.
They've kept them afloat and demanding more. It's soo wrong. And no rules put in place at any point - just handing over the cash.
It's be like locking me in a sweetshop overnight and expecting there to be chocolate left in the morning.0 -
I think that to some extent we are buying the banks.
A bit like partial nationalisation................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
If we were buying the banks we'd sort out T&C before - but we've not. We've just got the cheque book out and given them shed loads ...0
