Bells Palsy and Benefits

My earning capacity is more than my wife's. Therefore, foresaking the mess which self-employment was for her, I would ordinarily be the main earner. As such, considering the fact that I am unable to go out and look for work, I was (perhaps mistakenly) thinking of applying for E&SA.
So, because you say you cannot look for work, you want both of you to stay at home on benefits?
Is your wife not prepared to seek work?0 -
OP have you actually applied for any jobs? I get the feeling probably not.
Takes a fair while from application to short list to interview. The paralysis may well have vanished in that time. I think that with a visible problem you might do well at interview with points for courage. I know it is hard and yes people do stare but you can't just hide away.Sometimes Bells takes a fair while to resolve and it is normally so gradual that you barely notice. Certainly it would be unusual to wake up one morning to find it gone.
Although you won't get the WTC when your wife is no longer working you will certainly still get the Child Tax Credit and possibly more than you are getting now. Do keep TCO informed of changes in your situation.0
