all depends on the size of your house!! I have a two bed house and here are my costs:

    Gas - £35
    Electric - £35
    Council Tax - £115
    Sky - £42
Water - hard to put a figure on but allow £30
Internet - you can get a good package for phone internet and sky (check other forums)

Also dont forget whatever insurances you need too, hope this helps.
  • Ours used to come to about £300/400 a month, but since energy prices have gone up we are paying about £500/600. Thats for a 4 bed terrace with 4 adults (2 owners + 2 lodgers)

Of course there are many variables which would change your usage, so it's difficult to guess really. you can get a good idea for things like broadband, phone, tv licence, but eneregy bills are always going to vary due to price changes and how much you use.

Its always best to over estimate in my experience!

    Add to cavan28's list:

    TV license - £12
Insurance - contents only if you rent - about £10

For two of you, if you live in a 1-2 bed flat/house, I'd say roughly £300 a month should cover you. So with rent at £500, total £800 between you (£400 each).

If you've been living with Mum and Dad before don't underestimate the cost of food and household items. Depending on how handy you are with a pan it will be at least 200 a month and could easily be 300.
