Hello,
We have flown to North Cyrus a few times, we go with http://www.metakholidays.co.uk/, They fly to Ercan via a stop in Turkey (only an hour stop and you stay on the plane).

Pegasus is good. It's a Turkish budget airline, and flies via Istanbul to Northern Cyprus.

thanks for this, all very helpful although still a little out of my budget. I wonder if it is cheaper to fly to the south and then drive north?0

Is that possible? I know they opened the border recently for tourists to cross, but I'm not sure about cars, especially hire cars.0 -

In March 2008. I flew to Larnaca for £94 return. I spent four days in the South and ten in the North. Didn't rent a car though. I think it's possible to take a rented car to the Turkish part but it'll probably involve a lot of red tape.0 -
hi turkish airlines/airways?
you can take a hired car depending on the hire company, you purchase the extra ins at the border that covers you for the northern side.
i used a local car hire firm elephantcarhire (not to go to northern cyprus)when i stopped in paphos and they were excellent. 195 euros paid in cash onarrival for 2 weeks hire and they give you car seats and roof racks for free. he only charged 20 euros for the full tank of petrol then told me to leave car at airport when i leave as had no excess so fully covered for all damage etc.
they are bookable on internet as well.

We always fly to Larnaca then get a pickup north.
It works out cheaper and is quicker.travelover0
