Egg loan PPI

Hi

I recently sent off the template letter to Egg to reclaim the PPI on my loan. I applied online when there were pre ticked boxes. I paid this loan off a year ago.

I have received a standard reply saying that they do not offer an advisory service etc. Do I still have a case?

What year was this? It is my belief that if this was a pre ticked box you still have a case as this would make it look like it was not optional.

It was 2005, so before the pre ticked boxes were removed.

Yes they did

"If you would like to pursue this matter further, you may refer the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service within 6 months of the date of this letter".

Hi think Pinknico may have signed off, she may be back later or tomorrow now, but now that you have received this response in regards to the FOS you can download the complaints form from their website or give them a ring.

Remember to enclose copies of correspondence and the letter which states the FOS, you can also get the complaints form photocopied and send it to the finance company whom you are complaining, tell them you have now moved this on to the FOS and enclose a copy of the complaints form for their interest and records, (sometimes this can help to change their minds), if that is the case then let the FOS know.;)

I sent the complaints form in the the FOS and a copy to Egg. Got a particularly pants letter back from Egg saying that their decision still stands and for me to note that they "will not be entering in to any further discussion regarding this complaint" Charming!
