I had no idea until I Googled it.
Service would be the same as for a boiler.

Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)
  • the Rinnai system would be ideal but i have no-where for it to exhaust. The only flu in the property is in the middle of the house and that is being used by the Warm Air system. This sits in a purpose built cupboard between the Living Room and the Bedroom. The Immersion is in a seperate cupboard next to the Bathroom but this is also an internal room there are no outside walls to vent gasses to from a gas fired heater. I have contacted Johnson and Starley and asked if they have a water heating add-on for the warm air system, they said that they do but it still requires a storage cylinder. So it kind of looks like im stuck with the massive water cylinder which is wasting heat 24hrs a day and not to mention emptying my pocket everyday. Boiling the kettle is looking like a good option afterall...lol

How about a 50l tank instead of the 150l or so?
    Something like

or just replace the existing copper tank with a smaller one?

If you switch it on when you need it, why's it wasting heat 24 hours a day?

Don't you just need a timer for the water cylinder? And maybe some insulation.
