Does anyone know Torquay?

Hello,
My son and his friend want to go to Torquay, they have heard the the night life is brilliant. They are both 19. Can anyone recommend somewhere they could stay (self catering) that is near to the pubs/clubs/marina.
I would hate them to end up somewhere that there might be young families because although they are lovely young men, they would be coming in late at night etc. And wouldn't like to disturb anyone. So if anyone knows of a place that offers accommodation suited to youngsters that would be ideal.
It's a long shot, but you never know, there might be someone on here who knows Torquay really well, any info would be gratefully accepted.
Thanks.

Hi
When is your son going to be in Torquay ? Some places open only from easter as very seasonal. resort.0 -
Good point about when he is planning to go. It could be July or maybe in May. I hadn't thought of the seasonal thing.
Thanks0 -
All of the bars along the Marina are open all year round. If they look for accommodation on Belgrave Rd. or Avenue Rd. they will be within striking distance of the bars, or at most a £5 taxi ride. All of the clubs close at 2am anyway so they won't be that late getting in, and most of the hotels and guest houses cater for young couples as well as groups, so that won't be a problem. Just had a thought, there is a fairly new Premier Travel Inn on the corner of Belgrave road, tell them to get in there, most of the accommodation in Torquay is dire and the price will be pretty hefty in the summer, so that will be a nice alternative and cheaper than most hotels, smashing location as well as free parking right on the sea front!!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
