Hi
I am considering a claim against Nat west
I took a credit card with them in 1992 when I returned to the UK from overseas with the army. There was no way that a payout could be claimed. Sickness in the army does not cause a loss of income.
In 1997 I left the army and became a self employed contractor. Work fluctuates sometimes plenty some times very little. In any case I cant see that I cold have convinced the to pay out on the policy when there is a quieter year than others.
I actually never really realised I had PPI until looking closely at my outgoings during the latest downtur (I KNOW I KNOW ). Can anybody offer me any advice. Do I have a claim. Should I self process. Should I use a solicitor. Which one ....aaarghhh more than anything I am feeling foolish £80 ent out of my account on ppi every month for the last 4 maonths at least.....the account is 16 years old

Hi there
I know its some years here but it may still be worth you trying to reclaim anyway.
Do you have the agreement for this, or any paperwork for this at all.
You could write to them and complain by adding your own reasons and see what they come back with.
Check this link out here with more useful ppi info, there is also a template letter, but personally I would write in your own words if you can with obviously your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to comply, or until you have exhausted the complaints procedures here, in the final response they should let you know where to go with your complaint to have this investigated if your not successful here, normally its the financial ombudsman service but as its some time ago, I am not too sure here, other posters may clarify this.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on here;

Thanks Di
I dont have any paperwork
I called Nat West and they were unable to even give me a policy number. They were quite standoffish actually.
I will use the three levels of letter method from the link...and lets see what happens.
