Paris 4 Valentines - advice?

Yup, never been abroad before let alone to Paris. Flying out tomorrow evening for a week and wanted some hints, tips & advice on places to go, things to do, places to eat & shop, getting around etc etc.

Any advice & info most certainly welcome.

TTFN!
Nice to save.

You may be overwhelmed by the metro at first, but it is really easy to use once you get the hang of it Buy a carnet of tickets supposed to be a booklet but it is actually 10 loose tickets. This would save you a Euro or two. You can change metro lines using the same ticket for your journey.

A metro to Charles DeGaulle Etoille station takes you out at the Arc De Triomph. I would do the Arc during the day and then return at night to walk down the Champs to Place de la Concord, quite magical and very safe.

Take the Bato Bus also. It cruises down River Seine and stops at major tourist
attractions like Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Musee'd'Orsay, among others. you can buy a day ticket and hop on and off all day. Just keep your eyes open fo the stops.

Montmartre district around Sacre Cour is worth a few hours of your time, (Salvador Dali museum excellent)

If you are up for it, I can recommend 10am Sunday mass in Notre Dame , Cathedral. Most importantly take time to soak up the atmosphere of Paris. Dont hash and bash to see everything as believe me you will return!

    Have a good time.
