Help!!

Hello all,
I'm sure that Help is really what everyone says when it all goes pear shaped!

My situation is that I was diagnosed with cancer in November 07. Since then I have been unable to work, have eliminated all of my savings and am getting close to defaulting on my credit card debt of around £40K.. I would have handled this sooner but going through intense chemo and immunotherapy I just didn't have the will to face it...

I have got the SOA calculator and am going through it now, but with hardly any income, 3 children and a life threatening illness, i was wondering where the heck do i begin?

Any advice you can give will be greatfully received!

Many thanks,
Jay

Contact one of the debt counselling charities. They will be able to advise you on what your best options are and help you get things organised. Its probably best to use one of these rather than trying to do it yourslef as it can be time consuming.

  • Please do post the soa.
Also do you have ppi on the credit card or any insurance policies that could pay the debt off. If you find you have ppi or policies and they do not cover then maybe work out if you have been missold them and claim them back.
  • 1. Do you own or rent?
    2. How old are your kids?
    3. Do you have a partner in looking after the kids?
