Hi everyone
I was lucky enough to win £5,000 the other week and so am looking to put it into savings with the hope of being able to buy my house in a max of 12 months, I will also be putting away a min of an extra £400 per month by standing order.
I really don't have a clue when it comes to the best rates etc so i was thinking of putting £3,600 into an ISA, and then the remaining balance plus the extra each month into a seperate savings account. I have both already but the rates are pretty dire. would this be the best and safest way to get a return?
Someone suggested to me last night that i could buy premium bonds with it all instead..i wouldn't earn interest but would be in with a chance of winning £50-£1,0000.000 each month but that the odds are slim...
what would you do?
Thanks

Just a note on PB"s , I bought £3000 worth in Nov 2001 and won £750 since then , most were £50 wins but 1 month I won £100 + £50 . Never took the winnings they were automatically reinvested .
Had to cash £1000 in 2 years ago to pay a tax bill and the winnings started to dry up , not had a win since July last year.
Just cashed them in and looking to reinvest in gold/Silver .0
