My sister and I both used the £10 off + Free Delivery code D6A2 recently. Both of us got charged the full amount (without the discount code being taken off) on our credit cards. We had to phone to get the money refunded.
The guy I spoke to today said that this was happening with some codes.
So... please check your credit card statements etc to make sure you get the offer you thought you were.
NB: If you have to call them, instead of calling their 0870 number and getting handsomely charged for the privilege of getting your money back, use 0800 0922622 instead (thanks to https://www.saynoto0870.com for that one!).
Hope that helps someone.
Best Regards,
Penny

Thanks so much for letting people know this. Just checked my bank account and saw that they have taken the full amount on my order. I was planning to post a question on MSE as to what to do- so your advice is very much appreciated!

I have only just put an order through using that code, so I will wait and see what happens. Thanks0

This seems to be standard practice for them. I used the code too and when I queried being charged the full amount she explained the code had been applied - but to my 'balance'. i.e. they'd have sent a statement to me saying I had a credit balance for £13.50 hoping I'd then use it to buy other goods. refunded it to my debit card without quibble when asked though.0

Hi, can anyone help? I ordered goods using the code for EXISTING customers that was supposed to give 10% plus free p&p. Trouble is, I have forgotten the code and I need it as I am now returning the goods and dont want to get charged the original p&p. As others on here have had probs I thought I would make sure I know what I am talking about before I tackle Additions. So, does anyone know what the code was for existing customers?
thanks in advance

i have just phoned them because they too the full ammount of £16.50 out of my account, they are going to re-credit my account with them for £13.50. so the next order a place will ahve £13.50 off it. crafty way to get 2 orders out of me i know but i dont mind so long as i do get the discount eventually, will just place a really small order to cover this ammount. dont think i will bother with this company after that,

I have just tried 3 times to get through using the 0800 number and I get so far and they say they are tranferring me to another department and then get cut off.Has anyone managed to get through using this number.0 -
I recently placed an order with Additions using a 10% off code I got on a direct e mail from themselves. After I placed the order online I realised the 10% had not been deducted so I rang the 'Customer Service line' straight away and pointed this out, the operator confirmed the 10% would be deducted. The goods arrived and 3 days later a mail was sent to me telling me that they had tried to get me on the phone (rubbish) and the 10% discount would not be honoured as it was out of date. After replying pointing out that I had already had an agreement that this would be honoured I got the following reply
Dear Mr Clarke
Thank you for your email about your order.
Unfortunately, as advised previously the code is not applicable to your
order.
Please accept my apologies for any problems caused to you by this.
If you wish to complain please put this in writing to the following
address:
Additions Direct,
Thynne Street,
Bolton,

If you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact me.

In other words if the discount does not come off the order online CANCEL the order or accept that Additions / Littlewoods / Kays or whatever else they are calling themselves will not give you the discount.
It takes a while to get a customer and a lot less time to lose them!!:beer:0 -
I emailed them and complained that they never deducted the £10 plus free P&P after using the code and they've emailed me to say they will credit my card with the discount.I am happy but don't think I'll bother with them again.0
