Hi There
My Mum Had A Secured Loan With Ppi Which She Took Out Around 1998 Which The Final Payment Has Just Been Made In January 2009.
Her Problem Is Similar To Yours:
1) It Was Sold By First National By A Kitchen Company, But The Loan Was With Ge Money, And When I Tried To Reclaim It About A Month Ago, They Told Me It Was Not Down To Them, They Didn't Sell It To Her And To Contact The Company She Bought The Kitchen Off Even Though They Received The Money!
Can Anyone Advise Me On How I She Take This Matter Forward.
Thanks

Hi there
May I ask if your mum still has the paperwork or the agreement for this?
I am sure there are ways around, this, but the paperwork would come in handy, if not she can ask the company if they still have a copy of the agreement they maybe able to send her this, although there may be just a small charge of £1 postal order or cheque payment, as this has gone past the 6 years I am not too certain what information they will be able to supply but there is no harm in trying.
Post up when you know and someone will be along to help where they can on this.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Yes my Mum has the paperwork. I adapted one of the PPI template letters from the info she gave me from the paperwork. The PPI she paid is just under £1000 and it would make a big difference to her life to get this back. I have 2 brothers living at home with her unempolyed and only has her wage coming in. So this money would help her alot !!!!!0

Hi there - just reading your post!! I think I'm in the same boat - I got a kitchen with finance through GE Money and have contacted them regarding the PPI. This was a single payment added to the loan. However, I finished paying my loan 5 years early! I don't really have any paperwork apart from the Credit Agreement with First National's name at the top - which is now GE Capital??
If anyone can give me any advice it would be appreciated!
PS - The kitchen company was Space Kitchens which is now owned by Weatherseal?? I think??
Very confused and not sure what to do now!!Thanks

Hi there
You could try to request the agreement for this if this was taken out over the last 6 years, enclose a £1 cheque or postal order payment, they should supply this within 12 days of request, or the other option for more paperwork, you could request a SAR, you will see the thread for this on these forums, with details, and as explained in my above post.
However you can still try to reclaim and complain while waiting for the documents, check this link out here:

There is more info which may help your case with reasons, and a template letter, try to use your own words if you can and they have 8 full weeks to respond, another letter maybe required if not successful first time or until you receive the final response, post by recorded delivery, and if this still not successful after you exhausted their complaints procedure, you may be eligible to take this to the financial ombudsman service, the company will let you know this.
Keep us posted and we can help step by step, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for the reply!!
I have already sent a letter to GE and they have advised I have to take my complaint to WSH Ltd T/A Space Kitchens?? From this I think Weatherseal have bought Space Kitchens. They gave me the address will I try them with the same template letter as I sent to GE - but including that I'd contacted GE and they advised I write to WSH Ltd?
GE Money did say in the letter that their internal complaints procedure is now exhausted and this letter represents our final response??? Any ideas.
I will point out that on the agreement that I signed the PPP was added as a single payment - which obviously I paid interest on this amount for 5ish years??
Thanks for your help! :A0 -
