Need help with decision making!

Does anyone know of any services other than Which magazine that give advice about household goods? I'm just setting up home with my boyfriend and we need to buy everything (washing machine, irons, hairdryers etc) and don't want to get ripped off.

What websites/magazines can offer advice about what to buy?

Thanks in advance!

Also reevoo.com has reviews by consumers and a scoring system. I usually check there first.

ukwhitegoods has some good articles plus a forum where you can request recommendations.
  • I sourced our kitchen appliances the other way round.

Decide at a higher level what you want from an appliance (features, how much you want to spend, any specific manufacturers) and do not concentrate upon individual models.

With this "specification" of what you want then you can go looking for the best deals available. When something catches your eye then look for reviews of the specific model number on google.

By doing this then you can actively search out end of line, ex-demo, graded products and either save lots of money or upgrade the quality of what you are buying.

I had an approximate budget I wanted to pay for everything I needed and with the exception of the waste disposal unit (little choice so no big discounts) then I generally paid 50% of RRP for all the kitchen electricals.

    Hope this helps.
