You work out electricity same way as gas except you don't have to convert to kwh. 212 units is 212kwh. 10 units a day - good for a family, not so good for a couple IMO.0

thanks so is that 212kw x11 x5? thats how i do my gas usage so is that the way for electric?0

No. How much do you pay for 1kwh electricity? Probably between 10-15p. Mine works out at 12.5p so if I'd used 212kwh, it'd be:
212 x 12.5p = 2650p = £26.500 -
thanks so much now i can keep an eye. how often would you phone through actual readings?0

I have a spreadsheet and meter read weekly but only enter them online with supplier once a month.0
-
would there be one of those on npower0
-
Haven't been with npower a while. Scottish power use your meter readings and raise a bill which is brilliant. My last supplier was eon and they let you put on meter readings but you only got your bill at normal times. Thing I liked about eon was that they let you change your DD (within limits) online.
Have you checked npower's website and do you have an online tariff?0 -
i have looked on tehir website cant see prices u can send a meter reading online but i dont know how often i have just changed from ppm and thay havent sent me any info as to when to pay etc. i think i am standard meter0

Well, normally you pay quarterly. You get a bill and they expect you to pay on receipt so you're being very sensible keeping track. An alternative is monthly DD. Your annual bill is calculated and you pay 1/12 every month. Of course, if your usage or prices rise, so will your DD. You normally get a reasonable discount for paying this way plus a further discount if you have duel fuel and/or manage your account online. Worth a phone call to discuss.0
