Very pleased with Argos

Just thought I'd let people know that Argos gave me a no quibble refund 10 MONTHS after a purchase I made form them.
Last April I bought a pair of Malibu wardrobes @ £74.99 each. They were only ever going to be temporary as my husband and his brother destroyed our old wardrobe during our house move last February. We were planning on waiting til we'd completely redecorated until we bought the ones we really like.
Anyways, I had expected them to last a bit longer than 10 months! Lately they've just been falling apart. The drawers had collapsed, the sides started to resemble the leaning tower of Pisa and you couldn''t even close the doors properly. Yesterday, during a day of stripping walls I told hubby to just collapse the wardrobes and dump them at the tip BUT first I thought I'd have a look for my receipt to confirm when I'd bought them.
Long story short, I found the receipt, confirmed date, rang Argos Cust Services, told them the problem. They said to dismantle them as much as poss, take them back to the store I got them from (they weren't home delivery) and get a refund which they promptly gave us when we took them back.
I now have £149.98 to put towards the lovely, solid triple wardrobe I wanted all along (from a different store).
It really pays to keep receipts even if they do only state '30 day money back guarantee' because even though my purchase had almost reached the 12 month guarantee, Argos were still more than happy to give a full refund back to my debit card. Shame they couldn't give a refund at the new selling price though - they're now £84.69!! A whopping £9.70 more than in April!!
