White Heat Mark On Good Table

Does anyone know how I can remove this. Bizarrely looked at couple of other sites and people suggest putting a towel on table and ironing the white mark out, but as it was a heat mark in the first place, can see that working. Besides, I'm scared it will produce another mark on an expensive table!

  • this sounds even scarier... but I've seen it done... pour a small amount of meths onto the stain and ignite it, then blow it out within a few seconds.

Have you an older piece of furniture you can try this out on first for reasurance?
  • I swapped houses with some Canadians and got a mark on their table -in sheer desperation after surfing I ironed it -it more or less disappeared. It does work as I guess it temporarily melts the surface wax? -but defo follow the advice on internet stain pages -I think you had to use paper or a cloth between iron and stain but I can't quite remember.
  • Not quite sure what you mean "internet stain pages". Thanks for both replies.
