White Heat Mark On Good Table

Does anyone know how I can remove this. Bizarrely looked at couple of other sites and people suggest putting a towel on table and ironing the white mark out, but as it was a heat mark in the first place, can see that working. Besides, I'm scared it will produce another mark on an expensive table!

this sounds even scarier... but I've seen it done... pour a small amount of meths onto the stain and ignite it, then blow it out within a few seconds.
Have you an older piece of furniture you can try this out on first for reasurance?0 -
I swapped houses with some Canadians and got a mark on their table -in sheer desperation after surfing I ironed it -it more or less disappeared. It does work as I guess it temporarily melts the surface wax? -but defo follow the advice on internet stain pages -I think you had to use paper or a cloth between iron and stain but I can't quite remember.0

Not quite sure what you mean "internet stain pages". Thanks for both replies.0
